St Paul's - 2017
The dome of St Paul's has been dominant over London's skyline for over 350 years. With a view that seems to be changing ever more rapidly, the cathedral's consistency helps to ground the city, balancing the past, present and future.
The Millennium Bridge is the perfect example of this juxtaposition of the old and new linking the Art Deco Tate Modern to the Baroque cathedral via a 21st century architectural (if not engineering) masterpiece. Photographically the bridge, like so many others in the city, helps to pull the viewer in across the otherwise dreary Thames to the dome of St Paul's basking in the blue hour light.
