Westminster - 2017
Like the infamous billboard from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, the London Eye and its sponsor induced colouring now keeps watch over the Houses of Parliament on the opposing bank. Originally only meant to be in place for 5 years to celebrate the turn of the Millennium, the Eye is now a firm fixture of the London skyline and, some say, an answer to Paris' Eiffel Tower.
Unfortunately the wheel is really too large for photography with its height dominating the frame. Plenty of interest in the sky is, therefore, critical to making this shot work with the heavens taking up over 70% of the frame.
