Chinatown - 2017
Chinatown after Chinese New Year is at its best. Lanterns are strung densely across the area with everything and everyone showing a slight glow that only comes with the optimism generated by the opportunities to come.
The most interesting shots are long after the sun has set and the crowds die down. The restaurant interiors reveal their secrets whilst the buildings are bathed in various colours of light. Picking bricks illuminated in red to match the lanterns is the obvious choice, with corner shots always offering a wonderful feel of any compact place.
