Pimlico, London - 2016
Watching trains come and go from such a vantage point is a surreal experience. Hundreds of people sit on each carriage, heading out from this spot to hundreds of different lives and homes. Standing here offers a real opportunity to understand the complexity and size of humanity and your place within it.
With trains leaving and arriving every couple of minutes it would be impossible to get more than two trails at once without overexposing the rest of the photo. This image is a composite of about 8 different photos all captured within 40 minutes of one another to give a complete set of trails over each track. The colours are completely natural, reflecting the complexity of different train classes used by operators at this station.
